Man Sentenced To 12 Years For Home Invasion Robberies

A 32-year-old man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to charges from two home invasions and car thefts from elderly women last year. On September 22nd Dustin Dwayne McIntire crept into a woman’s home while she was sleeping, stole her purse containing her car keys, and drove away in her car. He was contacted in the driver’s seat of the car the next day by a Humboldt County Deputy in McKinleyville. Then, a little after 2AM on November 24th McIntire broke into a car on Golf Drive off Bechelli Lane in Redding. He found a house key, which he used to get in the house. He then woke up the 79-year-old resident and demanded her car key and money from her wallet. She gave him what he wanted and she was ordered into a back room while McIntire left in her car. A press release was issued describing the white Honda CRV and that afternoon somebody saw the car on Oak Run Road and McIntire was captured. On Wednesday, after pleading guilty to one count each of carjacking, burglary and elder abuse, McIntire was sentenced to 12 years 8 months in state prison.
