Redding School Of The Arts Hosting Meeting On Proposed New High School

A local school that focuses on the arts is considering starting a high school. Redding School Of The Arts has scheduled a meeting to get public input on a possible partnership with Shasta College to create a small, early college high school for about 200 students. The classroom-based school would serve students who want to continue language studies and engage in studies that includes the arts. Grades 9 and 10 would attend school 5 days a week, with 11th and 12th grade students taking a combination of onsite classes and Shasta Community College Classes. That would allow students to pursue career options and earn college units prior to graduation. The high school campus would be located behind the current campus. The “high school interest informational meeting” will be next Thursday, the 29th at 6:30PM in the Community Room of the school at 955 Inspiration Way.
