Voter Information Guides Will Be Sent Out In Early February

With the primary election just over a month away, the Shasta County Elections Department wants voters to know that they will receive two voter information guides in the mail, one from their department and one from the California Secretary of State. County voter information guides are expected to be mailed starting Monday, February 3rd, which is also the first day to vote by mail. People who are registered as “no party preference” can request a ballot on election day to vote for a presidential candidate in the American Independent, Libertarian or Democratic Party. “no party preference” voters who vote by mail need to request a ballot for the party they want to vote for in advance. Only registered Republicans can vote for a Republican presidential candidate in the primary. To check your registration status and get more information, go to shastavotes.org or by calling the elections department at 225-5730.
