APD K9 Helps Officers Arrest Felon After Pursuit Into Happy Valley

An Anderson police dog followed his nose to a man who ran after a car chase. At 10:15PM Friday night an APD Officer tried to pull over a driver who had almost caused a collision, but he didn’t stop and it turned into a high-speed chase. The driver led officers out Olinda Road to Happy Valley Road. The car left the road and got stuck near Palm Avenue and Monte Vista Drive, and the driver ran off into a field. Aero the K9 picked up the scent and led officers to a car in the carport of a house about 400 feet away. 26-year-old Levi Robert McLeod was in the car, and he surrendered immediately. He had a felony warrant and is on probation for domestic violence. He was booked on charges including felony evading and driving on the wrong side of the road.
