Drivers on I-5 will face delays this week and next for the installation of new signs. On Thursday from 6AM to 3PM, both directions of the freeway between Shasta Dam Boulevard and Fawndale Road will be reduced to one lane for the installation of posts for overhead sign structures. CHP units will also be conducting intermittent full closures during this time, each lasting about 5 minutes. Similar delays are expected next Monday through Wednesday between 6PM and 8AM to install overhead trusses for signs. This time, full lane closures are expected to last as long as 15 minutes.
