Shasta County’s Clerk and Registrar of Voters is apologizing for an error on voter information guides mailed out this week. Cathy Darling-Allen said that the guides went out with an incorrect title for local measure “A”. It should have been “Shasta County Public Safety Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance”, but instead had the title of an old City of Redding measure. Darling-Allen says that the title is the only mistake; the text of the measure is correct. Also, the official ballots are completely correct. Replacement pages will be mailed out in the next day or 2. The corrected page can be viewed at the department’s website, elections.co.shasta.ca.us.
