CHP: Man Arrested For Felony DUI After Fatal Head-On Crash

One person is dead and one person is under arrest after a head-on collision Wednesday night in the Whiskeytown area. At 8:10PM a woman was driving a Chevy S10 pickup on Highway 299 east of Grizzly Gulch Road near the scales when she was struck head-on by a 1999 Toyota pickup driven by 42-year-old Hawk Blaze Bergstrom of Redding. He suffered major injuries and was arrested for felony driving under the influence of alcohol. The coroner’s office is trying to determine the identity of the woman in the Chevy, who was declared dead at the scene.
