Redding firefighters had to tromp through some thick bushes to get to a fire Thursday night near the proposed future location of a Costco store. Just after 8 o’clock the fire was reported near Bechelli Lane and South Bonnyview. Crews found a burning spot of thick brush about 20 by 20 feet. They had to lay several hundred feet of hose to reach the location. it was apparently started in a homeless camp from an escaped cooking fire. One arrest was made for arson and recklessly causing a fire.
