A woman killed in a head-on crash last Wednesday night in the Whiskeytown area has been identified by the Shasta County Coroners Office. 27-year-old Diana Elizabeth Schalk of Pembroke, Kentucky was driving a Chevy S10 pickup on Highway 299 east of Grizzly Gulch Road near the scales when she was struck head-on by a Toyota pickup driven by 42-year-old Hawk Blaze Bergstrom of Redding. He suffered major injuries and was arrested for felony driving under the influence of alcohol. Schalk was declared dead at the scene. Her family has been notified.
