Several Cited During Minor Alcohol Stings

Both types of minor decoy alcohol stings were done by Redding Police Saturday. During one operation, an underaged person supervised by officers was sent into stores trying to buy alcohol with no ID Card. The purchases were successful at three stores and citations were issued to the clerks. They were the Valero Station on Churn Creek Road at South Bonnyview, the Circle K at Churn Creek and Hartnell and the Rancho Market on Airport Road. A shoulder tap operation was also done, during which the minor decoy approaches customers in store parking lots and asks them to buy alcohol. A 58-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man agreed to make purchases and were cited.
