Dhanuka Files Complaint Against Dahle’s Campaign With Fair Political Practices Commission

A candidate has filed a complaint with election watchdogs in a particularly rancorous Northstate political race. The contest for District One Assembly is a three way race between Democrat Elizabeth Betancourt, Independent Paul Dhanuka and Republican incumbent Megan Dahle. The tone of negative attacks in radio and television commercials has pitted Dhanuka and Dahle against each other, while Betancourt’s campaign has remained outside the fray. Dahle’s Campaign has exposed Dhanuka for failing to participate in some previous elections as a voter. Dhanuka’s Campaign has accused Dahle of being beholden to special interests and makes reference to the “Dahle Dynasty”. Megan Dahle holds the Aassembly Seat that was vacated by her husband Brian Dahle when he won a seat in the State Senate. On Thursday Dhanuka announced that he’s filed a complaint with the State Fair Political Practices Commission over a Megan Dahle mailer that says it’s paid for by the Dahle for Senate Campaign, which may be illegal if it’s true. Megan Dahle’s Campaign tells the Sacramento Bee that it was just a typo by a consultant who had previously worked on Brian Dahle’s Campaign.
