The Latest: Parolee Arrested After Breaking Into 2 Restaurants

A Redding parolee has been arrested for a pair of restaurant break-ins over the past two weeks. A thief broke into the Round Table Pizza in the Westwood Village Shopping Center in South Redding on February 10th. While he was burglarizing the place, a Round Table employee interrupted him. The intruder force the employee into a walk-in freezer while he finished the burglary and fled. The employee was able to escape the freezer after the man left. Redding Police say the same man broke into the Black Bear Diner through a hole in roof, dropping into the restaurant office and stealing thousands of dollars. The thief was captured on surveillance and tips came in, directing police investigators to 45-year-old Bruce Robertson Legassie, who’s already on parole for robbery. He was captured by RPD and parole officials Thursday and booked into jail for robbery, burglary, kidnapping and brandishing a weapon.
