Man Arrested For Selling Drugs Has Been Released From Jail 4 Times Since November

A man arrested for drugs in South Redding on Friday was already familiar with the process. An RPD Officer was driving by the AM/PM store at Buenaventura and Railroad when he recognized a car from prior contacts as belonging to a woman he knew was on parole. The officer pulled in and contacted the driver, as well as the passenger, 37-year-old Michael Lopez. The car was searched, reportedly turning up a large quantity of Methamphetamine belonging to Lopez. He was booked into jail for possession of drugs for sale. 10 hours later he was released. This was Lopez’s 4th arrest for possession of Meth for sale since November 12th, when he was released after 12 hours. On January 27th it was a 5 hour stay and on February 7th he was there for 13 hours. Each time he had to be released to make room for another arrestee.
