Convicted Child Molester Sentenced To 5 Years For Flashing Women

A Shasta County judge has sent a convicted child molester to prison for two indecent exposure incidents in the parking lots of Redding stores. 30-year-old Ronald Kay Mason was in the Winco parking lot on July 3rd, 2016 when he exposed himself to a woman who was putting groceries in her car. She called 9-1-1 but he was gone when Redding Police arrived. Two days later Mason did the same thing to a woman in the Walmart parking lot. He did not get away clean that time. The woman called 9-1-1 and reported Mason’s license plate number as she followed him until Redding Police caught up. He admitted to the incident and was arrested. In January a jury found Mason guilty. In 2012 Mason was convicted of child molestation in Trinity County. That prior offense contributed to a harsher sentence imposed on Friday of 5 years 4 months in state prison.
