Update: Woman Leads Deputies On Chase In Pickup Stolen From SPI

A 30-year-old woman led Trinity County Deputies on a high speed chase Saturday afternoon in a stolen pickup. At around 3:45PM, a deputy patrolling the Weaverville area saw a vehicle he considered suspicious on Hall Way and tried to pull it over but the driver refused to yield and fled onto Highway 299. The chase ended at the intersection with Little Browns Creek Road, when the pickup went up an embankment and got high-centered on a downed utility pole. The pickup belongs to Sierra Pacific Industries and was taken at the site of a fire. Ashlie N. Clark was taken to county jail for vehicle theft and reckless evading and was being held on $50,000 bail.
