Fraud Prevention Fair Will Share Tips To Ward Of Scammers

The 5th annual Fraud Prevention Fair hosted by the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office takes place Wednesday. An alarming number of American adults become victims of fraud each year by many avenues: fears of arrest or fines, concerns about family members, the loss of benefits, even the threat of Coronavirus. Whatever scam artists choose to exploit, the key to preventing such rip-offs is to see them coming. That’s what’s behind the Fraud Prevention Fair. More than 40 different local, state and federal agencies and non-profits will be there with key information. Free on-site document shredding will be available and light refreshments will be served. Everyone is encouraged to attend and it’s all free Wednesday from 10AM to 1PM at the Redding Elks Lodge, located just upriver from Lake Redding Park. More details are on the Shasta County D.A. Facebook Page.
