Redding Drug Dealer Will Be Sentenced To 20 Years

A prolific Redding drug dealer will get a very long sentence after pleading guilty to 14 drug and weapons related counts Tuesday. Between April of last year and January of this year, 37-year-old Shawn Evan Copelin was the target of multiple traffic stops, as well as search warrants served at his home on Kenyon Drive in South Redding, resulting in the overall seizure of 7-and-a-half pounds of Methamphetamine and more than a pound of Heroin, as well as multiple guns, including several banned assault weapons. Over the past year Copelin stacked up numerous felony warrants for failing to appear on previous arrests. He was out on bail when some of his arrest were made, making him eligible for sentencing enhancements. Next month Copelin will be sentenced to 20 years in state prison.
