Suspect Sought After Home Invasion In Hayfork

A home invasion robbery is under investigation in Hayfork. At 10:30PM Friday night, someone made a 9-1-1 call reporting that they had escaped the house but another victim was still there with the robber. Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputies, a Forest Service Ranger and a Fish and Wildlife Warden rushed to the scene, but by the time they arrived the robber had fled and nobody got a look at the getaway vehicle. The victim had been freed by a third victim from zip ties the robber had placed around their wrists and a canvas bag that had been placed over their head. The third victim apparently has a felony warrant and for that reason left before the arrival of law enforcement. The suspect was described as an Asian man in his late 20’s with a slender build, about 5-foot-2. The victims, who are of Hmong descent, said the robber was speaking Hmong. He was armed with a handgun and stole three garbage bags of processed marijuana bud, estimated at around 50 pounds. Detectives recovered items from the scene that may have useable DNA from the robber.
