Courthouse Announces Changes To Services Due To COVID-19

Shasta County Superior Court is significantly slowing down the wheels of justice to try and reduce human contact. No jury trials will be set until after April 13th. Felony cases and in-custody misdemeanor cases will all be heard in the two courtrooms attached to the jail building. There will be no felony preliminary hearings. Famliy law will be limited to essential or emergency matters. All traffic cases are dropped, including red light camera trials. Small claims are continued. After Monday all probate matters are rescheduled. Most other departments will only hear urgent matters. Misdemeanor calendars are delayed for two months. Clerks offices are available only by phone at 245-6789. More details are at shasta.courts.ca.gov
