Homeless Man Arrested After Arson Fire At Red Bluff Park

A homeless man in Red Bluff has been charged with causing some expensive damage to city property. At 2:34AM Tuesday morning, Red Bluff Fire and Police were sent to the City Park, where they found a couch engulfed in flames near the amphitheater. The fire had spread to a storage shed and firefighters quickly extinguished it. Damage is estimated at $20,000. Red Bluff Fire Department arson investigators found video surveillance showing the fire being started, and witnesses identified him as 38-year-old Wesley Marchello Reed. He was taken into custody later in the day and interviewed, though he refused to give a statement. He’s being held on $50,000 bail.
