Vets Home Reports Another Positive COVID-19 Case

The total number of Shasta County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 is now 24. The latest is a woman in her 50’s. She’s isolated at home. 9 of the confirmed cases caught the virus from a known contact, 4 were travel related, one caught it from a stranger and the other 10 caught it from an unknown source. Three people have died from the virus. Two people, the first and third diagnosed, have recovered, leaving 19 active cases in isolation.

Cal-Vet says one resident and four staff members of the Redding Veterans Home on Knighton Road have tested positive.

Members of Faith Assembly Church on Airport Road in Redding who attended an event there on March 14th or 15th should inform all their close contacts that they may have been exposed.

A female Shasta College student in her 20’s may have exposed others while at the Shasta College Health Sciences Building in Downtown Redding on March 12th.

568 COVID tests in Shasta County have shown negative results. 66 people are currently under quarantine orders due to possible exposure to an infected person.

Tehama County has one confirmed Coronavirus case. Siskiyou County now has four and Butte County has 13. Humboldt County has 50. There are none reported in Trinity, Lassen or Modoc Counties.
