The 2020 Cal-Trans construction season is getting underway. Anyone traveling north of Lake Shasta on Interstate Five should be aware of a bridge construction project that will require reduced speeds. The Sims Bridge in Northern Shasta County is being replaced, and starting Thursday the traffic configuration could change at any time. Traffic is being reduced to one lane in each direction, with crossovers to the opposite side delineated by K-rail. That will continue for several weeks, with the speed limit reduced to 55 and then 50 miles an hour.
