Food Trucks Now Allowed To Serve At Rest Stops

The Governor has authorized food truck operators to set up at the state’s highway rest areas to serve truckers and travelers. Food truck owners need to be within the jurisdiction of their local health department permit, and also need to apply for an encroachment permit through Cal-Trans. The idea is to give truckers more food options, with sit-down restaurants closed and big rigs unable to fit into fast food drive-through lanes.
