Body Recovered From Klamath River In Siskiyou County

A body has been found floating in the Klamath River, and Siskiyou County Sheriff Jon Lopey says the death is considered suspicious. Someone spotted the body Monday evening near the Independence Creek Bridge about 14 miles west of Happy Camp along Highway 96. Karuk Tribal Security assisted with the use of their boat to retrieve the body. The identity of the deceased is not yet known, nor is the cause of death. The coroner’s office is working to determine both.
