COVID-19 Testing Available At Shasta College, Tehama County Site Opening Next Week

A Covid testing station at Shasta College is ready for widespread sample gathering from people who are not showing symptoms. That will give public health officials a much better idea of what percentage of the general population is carrying the virus. The first round of asymptomatic testing is for health care workers and public safety personnel. There’s no estimate yet on when testing will be opened up to the general public. Those with symptoms of COVID-19, which include cough, fever and difficulty breathing, should still contact their healthcare provider or public health at 225-5591. An Optumserve site will open next week in Red Bluff, and it will then move to Corning.
