Some Redding Restaurants Begin Seating Guests

Shasta County is allowing more lenient phase two restrictions than those recommended by the Governor. Now allowed are most dine-in restaurants, shopping malls, swap meets, car washes, pet grooming, tanning facilities, and office-based businesses. A number of Redding restaurants began to seat people over the weekend.

Most parks, trails and golf courses are open. routine medical care, dental care and optometry may resume. Childcare is allowed for small groups, and Shasta County schools may reopen August 10th.

What’s not allowed are hair or nail salons, gyms, churches, tattoo parlors, movie theaters, bars, or playgrounds.

Some tools to help businesses and customers stay safe and make sense of it all are at shastaready.org.

Non-essential travel and large gatherings are still prohibited. While out in public, people are encouraged to wear masks and maintain social distancing. The elderly and medically vulnerable should still stay home as much as possible
