State Ok’s More Counties To Move Into Phase 2

More counties have moved into expanded stage two of the reopening process, with similar lifting of business closures to what was approved in Shasta County. Those counties include Butte, Glenn, Colusa, Lassen and Plumas. Tehama County starts phase two Friday, and Trinity County is preparing as well. Now approved for opening are most retail stores, dine-in restaurants, shopping malls, office-based businesses and more. Plans are underway for the Mount Shasta Mall to open on Monday, though not all stores will take the option of opening right away. Most parks, trails and golf courses may open. Routine medical care, dental care and optometry may resume.Childcare is allowed for small groups, and Shasta County schools are set to reopen August 10th. Many types of businesses are not yet approved for opening, including gyms, movie theaters, bars, professional sports, hair or nail salons, tattoo parlors, libraries, playgrounds, concerts or churches. People should wear masks when visiting any public place. Non-essential travel should be avoided and vulnerable people over age 65 should stay at home as much as possible.
