Deputies Interrupt Home Burglary In Round Mountain

Two men with prior criminal records have been caught in the act of a burglary in Round Mountain, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. Just after 5 O’clock Friday afternoon, deputies were sent to a home on Terry Mill Road, where they apparently arrived just in time to find 30-year-old Kirk Taylor of Redding walking out of the attached garage of the home. They learned that a second man had fled and, with help from a Forest Service Officer and his K9 “Cezar”, a track led to 30-year-old Bryon Carey of Anderson hiding in a nearby ditch. The house had been ransacked and shoe prints inside matched the tread on Taylor and Carey’s shoes. Taylor is on probation for burglary and other crimes. Carey is on post release supervision for drugs and had a warrant for hit and run.
