Monday Update: New Cases Of COVID-19 Reported In Shasta & Tehama Counties

Shasta County identified another COVID-19 case over the weekend, a man in his 70’s, bringing the total to 34. The three most recent cases have been people showing no symptoms. Public health says this reinforces the importance for everyone to follow safe practices. 4 people have died. 11 people are quarantined due to possible exposure. 2,884 tests have shown negative results.

Trinity County has two Coronavirus cases. Tehama County has confirmed its second patient. Butte County has had 24 cases. Siskiyou County has had 5. Glenn County has had 9. There have been 69 cases in Humboldt County. There are still none reported in Lassen or Modoc Counties.

Anyone, even with no symptoms, can get tested for free at a Covid testing station at Shasta College or at the Red Bluff Community Center or at Corning High School. If insurance doesn’t cover the cost, the state will. Appointments must be made online at lhi.care/covidtesting
Those with symptoms, which include cough, fever and difficulty breathing, should still contact their healthcare provider or Shasta County Public Health at 225-5591 to set a mobile testing appointment.
