A pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Redding Monday night. At 10:17PM, the unidentified person was trying to cross Highway 273 at Buenaventura Boulevard and ran into the path of a northbound car driven by 25-year-old Gessica Leuschner. She said she could not avoid hitting the person. Redding Police evaluated Leuschner and determined she was not under the influence of anything, and they don’t believe speed was a factor either. Witnesses are urged to contact the RPD Traffic Division. The identity of the pedestrian has not been made public.
