There are some odd circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Tehama County Monday afternoon, according to the Corning Observer. At around 4:30PM a Honda Civic, which may have been stolen, was southbound on Paskenta Road just south of Rancho Tehama Road when it entered the northbound side of the road and skidded sideways in front of a Ford E-250 utility van. The van broadsided the Honda, nearly splitting it in half and killing the male driver and female passenger. After the crash, the driver of the van was seen by witnesses getting out and leaving in a Honda coupe driven by someone else. CHP investigators were still at the crash scene Tuesday morning. They’re seeking any information anyone may have to identify the van driver.
