Federal fire crews are working a fire estimated at 15 acres in a remote area near Lake Shasta. The fire is burning near Brock Mountain north of the Pit River near the east end of the lake. Crews are being transported in by boat to the difficult to access area. There are also water dropping helicopters and retardant dropping air tankers working the fire. The Brock Fire is one of several that were sparked by lightning last weekend. The others were discovered earlier and extinguished. There are no structures anywhere near the Brock Fire. Crews reported 20% containment Friday morning.
