A Corning man has been given a break for continually harassing an underage girl who was 24 years younger than him. 41-year-old Jason Lee Benson was arrested in July of last year by a Tehama County District Attorney’s Investigator on Antelope Boulevard at the Sacramento River. Benson had met the 17-year-old victim at a store in Red Bluff and asked for her name. He then found her Facebook page, which had her phone number listed. He began calling and texting her and sending her pictures of his genitals. Even though she told him she was only 17, he continued to repeatedly send texts and obscene pictures. Benson has been sentenced to a year in county jail and 3 years probation. He also must complete a sex offender treatment program and register as a sex offender for life.
