Two Killed South Of Chico In Fiery Crash

A horrific crash south of Chico closed Highway 99 for hours Wednesday afternoon and killed two people. It happened a little before 1 O’clock on 99 at Neal Road. A big rig driver from Sacramento was northbound when he failed to stop for the light and plowed into four different passenger vehicles. The driver and passenger of a Honda Accord were killed. The big rig was hauling balls of twine, and it caught fire after the collision. The CHP is still investigating, but they don’t believe the trucker was under the influence.
