PG&E has been given the weather all-clear to restore electricity to many areas, and many Shasta County residents should already have their power back. The public safety power shutoff started Sunday morning, affecting around 345,000 customers, including nearly 25,000 in Shasta County. Power restoration had been set to begin Tuesday after crews inspect the grid for damage, but apparently the winds died down earlier than anticipated, so crews started inspecting equipment and restoring power Monday. Although the North Valley did not experience the intense winds that were forecast, there were gusts in Sonoma County recorded at 89 miles an hour. 156,000 customers were restored by Monday night. The other 189,000 should be back on by Tuesday evening. Information on specific addresses can be found at pge.com/pspsupdate.
