RPD: Transient Arrested After Lighting Dumpster On Fire

Redding Police arrested a transient after he reportedly lit a dumpster on fire Thursday morning. At about 8:20AM a 911 caller reported that they tried to wake a transient up who was sleeping behind a business at 2950 Bechelli Lane. The caller reported that Justin Demello started yelling and banging on the rear door of the building. Demello than reportedly lit a nearby dumpster on fire and pushed it closer to the building before he fled on foot. Demello was found by Redding Police Officers nearby and was arrested for arson. No damage was reported to the building.
