A man from Santa Rosa left a trail of destruction Monday morning, according to Redding Police. 46-year-old Michael Hernandez was at the Circle K at the corner of Hartnell and Churn Creek and reportedly caused a disturbance, throwing merchandise and striking the cashier, who responded by pepper spraying Hernandez. He fled in his Pontiac Grand Prix, reportedly crashing into a car at Hartnell and Victor, then fleeing the scene and crashing into a parked car on Polaris Way before arriving at a relative’s house on Corona Street. Redding Police caught up to Hernandez on Corona Street and arrested him for battery, hit and run and driving under the influence of drugs. Nobody was injured.
