The Good News Rescue Mission expects to provide Thanksgiving dinner to more than one thousand families this year. They’ll need the community to step up by donating a huge frozen flock of a thousand turkeys during their big 22nd annual “Stuff the Truck” food drive this Friday. There will be two locations for the drive, Save Mart and FoodMaxx, both located on Churn Creek Road in Redding. The mission is famous for the help they provide every day of the year to the area’s large homeless population, but they also help a lot of people who are not homeless but are in need of a helping hand. What’s needed most this Friday are frozen turkeys, canned cranberry sauce, canned veggies and yams, pumpkin pie crust and filling, boxed stuffing and potatoes. Friday’s collection runs all day, from 6:30AM to 6PM, at Savemart and FoodMaxx.
