A man was arrested for arson by Redding Fire investigators Thursday morning. Shortly after 9AM firefighters were called to a fire on Rancho Road. It burned about a 30 by 10 foot spot of dry grass and brush located near an illegal homeless encampment. Investigators were told that a man named Robert Ward was seen fleeing the area just after the fire started. He was tracked down and reportedly confessed to intentionally starting the fire.
