A thief who stole a hunter’s pickup truck and guns was hunted by Redding Police Thursday morning. Just after 5AM officers were called to the Gold Street home of 58-year-old Parrish Cremeans. He’s a hunting guide who was preparing for a turkey hunting trip with a teen who was diagnosed with cancer. Cremeans had his pickup loaded up with all his guns and gear and left the truck warming up while he went inside to get his coffee. He then heard the truck being driven away. About 34 minutes later a driver on Canyon Creek Road near Starburst Drive reported a pickup off the road in a ditch. It was Cremeans truck, and officers found it unoccupied. Some gear, including the guns, were missing so a search for the suspect began, with the use of a drone, a CHP helicopter and Otto the K9. Otto picked up a track and led officers to several items stolen from the truck, including all the guns. They appeared to have been stashed to be picked later. The thief was not found.
