Investigators Identify Suspect In August Murder At Red Bluff FoodMaxx

Red Bluff Police have identified a suspect who reportedly shot and killed another man at a supermarket in August. At 10:15Pm on August 3rd, Red Bluff Police were called to FoodMaxx on Belle Mill Road to check on a shooting victim. When officers arrived multiple people were trying to render first aid to the victim who had been shot once in the upper torso. On Wednesday officers identified a suspect as 36-year-old Elfego Chavez Acevedo. Police say he fled in a maroon Nissan Altima and has been at large since the shooting. He is believed to be hiding in the Rancho Tehama area and may have been spotted in Corning. Acevedo is described as a Hispanic man who is five foot nine and weighs between 180 and 200 pounds. He has a large number of tattoos. Police say he goes by several names including Preacher, Feo, and Chavez. A $5,000 reward is offered for information leading to his arrest through Tehama County Secret Witness.
