Some people hunting for Christmas trees in the Old Station area over the weekend were ill equipped for the snow. Two parties in two vehicles had driven up Ash Pan Road and both of them got stuck. They called for help at 4:20PM Saturday afternoon. As Shasta County Search and Rescue was responding, one of the parties got their vehicle out of the snow and drove out unassisted. The others were rescued with the use of a Snowcat.
