APD: Man Fights With Officer After Traffic Stop

A wanted man was caught after fighting with an officer on Sunday afternoon, according to Anderson Police. After a report of an impaired driver on Ox Yoke Road, 22-year-old Jason Navarro was pulled over for having no lights on. He apparently gave a false name to the officer, who recognized his facial tattoos from prior arrests. Navarro is on parole for assault with a deadly weapon and had a felony warrant. He got out of the car and tried to leave and when the officer grabbed a hold of him, Navarro reportedly punched the officer. The two fought briefly until the officer used his Taser to subdue Navarro. He was reportedly under the influence of Meth and was in possession of Heroin, over a pound of Marijuana, pepper spray, a stun gun and paraphernalia.
