Police Seek Man In Connection To August Murder

Authorities are looking for a man believed to have been an accessory to murder. On the evening of August 3rd a 52-year-old man stumbled into FoodMaxx in Red Bluff and collapsed. He had a gunshot wound to his upper chest which proved to be fatal. Earlier this month Red Bluff Police identified the suspect as 36-year-old Elfego Chavez-Acevedo. He was captured a few days later after a standoff in Corning. Police believe he was assisted by 39-year-old Salvador Valdovinos, also known as “Chavo”. He’s a Hispanic man with brown hair and brown eyes, 5-Foot-9 and 180 pounds. He may be staying at various locations in Tehama and Lassen Counties.
