A tornado touched down in Tehama County Monday afternoon. The Weather Service issued a tornado warning at 3:35PM for East Central Tehama County and North Central Butte County. Two twisters were seen, one of them east of Corning that damaged a barn and some power lines. The other one was west of Corning. The tornados were apparently not the cause of a major power outage in the Corning area. At 1:34PM a lightning strike on a substation knocked out electricity to 4,801 PG&E customers. They were all restored by 3:48PM.
