The Shasta County Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting Wednesday afternoon for the sole purpose of deciding whether to reopen their meetings to in-person attendance. A policy of distancing has been followed that applies when the county is in the purple or red tier of Covid restrictions. Supervisors have been attending electronically and streaming their meetings online. Public comments have been coming in mostly by E-mail and voice mail, but they’ve all been shared at each meeting. On Tuesday was the first board meeting since Patrick Jones was elected to the board. He and Les Baugh showed up to the supervisors chambers in person and opened the doors to allow the public inside as well. Almost none of them wore masks or observed social distancing. Wednesday’s special meeting will begin at 3 O’clock.
