The Shasta County Board of Supervisors will vote Tuesday on funding for a program that will provide housing for homeless adults with serious mental illness. The McConnell Foundation and Hill Country Community Clinic are partnering to provide housing largely through state grant funding. They also want to build a 40,000 square foot medical facility for the underserved near Lowes off East Cypress Avenue.
The board will also discuss a proposal to the state to request more local control of COVID-19 restrictions. For the first time since a special resolution was passed last week, the board chambers will be open to the public on a limited basis.
