The City of Redding allocated $750,000 in Cares Grant funding to 121 local businesses last October to help keep them afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic. The City Council got an update from the Finance Department at Tuesday nights meeting. Georgia Clark told the council that all 121 businesses are still open, although many have reduced hours and staff. She says some of the owners have taken second jobs to cover their own expenses and keep employees on the payroll.
