It’s a motorcyclist’s most dangerous situation: the oncoming left turn. Monday night in West Redding 40-year-old Holly Newman was riding a Suzuki GSX north on Court Street at Tehama when 72-year-old Faith Blatchford came the other way in her Honda CRV and made a left turn directly in front of the motorcycle. Newman broadsided the SUV. The impact knocked her helmet off and she suffered head trauma and injuries to her left arm and leg. Blatchford was uninjured. Police do not suspect impairment.
