By a 3-2 vote the Shasta County Board of Supervisors has censured two of their members. Patrick Jones and Les Baugh opened the doors to the Supervisors Chambers to the public at their first meeting of the year, on January 5th. This violated a resolution by the board to close the chambers while the county is in the purple tier of Covid restrictions. The next day, the board changed the rules and opened the meetings to the public. Jones and Baugh, defending their actions, both say the closure of the meetings was unconstitutional.
